The TOURAL project aims to develop a model for supporting the tourism development of rural regions participating in the project (i.e. project regions), balancing the growth of their urban clusters (usually more popular and touristic) with the untapped growth potential of their remote and rural network nodes (cells that not defined as urban centers or urban clusters).
TOURAL will focus on cultural and creative tourism as drivers of sustainable development, paying particular attention to the requirements of the EC "Tourism Transition Path" in the context of intelligent multi-destination and multi-dimensional tourism offers that promote macro-regional tourism cooperation and integrated local value chains. value chains.
The TOURAL modeling approach will be multi-dimensional in terms of addressing additional vertical/niche tourism sectors; participation in the development of policy program directions and tourist offers/services, as well as joint creation of business models and tourist products; integrated, in terms of joint planning and business development, with integrated value chains (local stakeholders), policy-making and cross-border cooperation at the levels of project regions and surrounding macro-regions and sea basins (hereinafter "macro-regions").
